People like to know what I've been up to in the last several years, especially regarding international travels. Here's the brief timeline:
- Summer 2004: summer work-service trip to Mexico
- Summer 2005: summer in Poland teaching English/working at a kids' summer camp
- 2006: HS graduation from Sequim High School
- 2006-2007: missionary work/living in Chile and traveling in South America
- Summer 2007: family work-service trip in Tijuana, Mexico
- 2007-2010: Undergrad studies at Whitworth University
- Fall 2007: enrolled at Whitworth, after a year of deferment, while in South America
- July-November 2008: study abroad in Costa Rica
- November-December 2008: substitute teaching in McKinney, TX
- January 2009: JanTerm study abroad in Guanajuato, Mexico
- January 2010: JanTerm study abroad in South Africa (roadtripping through the country)
- March 2010: spring break work-service trip to Jamaica
- June 2010: walked in Whitworth's spring graduation ceremonies, with one more semester to finish in the fall
- December 2010: officially graduate after 3.5 years enrolled at Whitworth, with a B.A. in Spanish and a B.A. in Cross-Cultural Studies, with minor focuses in Speech Communications and Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL/ELL)
- January 2011: move to Costa Rica and begin working at Whitworth's new Costa Rica Center as a Student Life Coordinator (see that blog for more details on the job description)
- Summer vacay, July 2011: visits Stateside
- August 2011-July 2012: still working at Whitworth's CRC, traveling Central America as well
- July-August 2012: EuroTrip with Aunt Susan (blog)
- September 2012-July 2013: teaching at an international school China
- August 2013-present: move to Hollister, California to help take care of my ailing grandmother, teaching dance at SBDA and working in Special Education at San Benito High School.
